Graci and Matt’s story is one that proves timing, patience, and a whole lot of history matter.Long before romance ever entered the picture, their lives had already been quietly intertwined. Graci grew up close with Matt’s sister and cousin, spending summers together in the Crosslake area and moving through the same circles. Back then, they were just part of each other’s world, without any idea of what the future might hold.As adulthood arrived, life pulled them in different directions. Each went on to pursue their own paths, building full lives shaped by growth, responsibility, and experience. Yet, through the years, there was a constant refrain from the people who knew them best—a gentle nudge from family and friends suggesting that maybe, just maybe, these two should take another look at each other.Eventually, Graci listened. She reached out to Matt, opening the door to a new chapter neither of them had planned, but both were ready for. Matt showed interest right away, but true to his nature, he moved thoughtfully and deliberately. He took things slow, showing Graci the steady, patient heart that has become such a cornerstone of their relationship.After crossing paths again at a mutual golf benefit, Matt followed up and asked Graci out with plans to spend election night together. That evening turned out to be the first of many “green flags”—including the comforting realization that they were very much aligned in their values and outlook on life. From there, they began dating quietly, taking the time to reacquaint themselves, rediscovering just how much fun they had together and how effortlessly they fit.If you ask Matt how he knew Graci was “the one,” his answer is simple and sincere: “Life is easy with her, and it feels complete.” And that feeling was mutual.Before long, Graci and Matt decided it was time to spill the tea and let family and friends in on their not‑so‑secret relationship. From that point on, their world only grew fuller. Matt quickly embraced his role as ringleader of shenanigans alongside Graci and her boys—spending weekends up north, hunting, dirt biking, vacationing, and soaking up every adventure as a family.What started as a childhood connection, rekindled through patience and perfect timing, has grown into a partnership rooted in friendship, shared values, and genuine joy. Today, Graci and Matt stand side by side, choosing each other—and a life filled with love, laughter, and many more weekends up north.
